This thing is really old, so by now those of us who have seen/done it before, now know more countries than one that begin with the letter D:  Democratic Republic of Congo, Denmark, Diego Garcia, Djbouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic----and Deutchland?

[For Nanci:]  Getting the letter D is obvious because anything multiplied by nine will give you a number with digits adding up to 9 (remember your times tables in second/third grade?) and subtracting five will give you four every time--which is going to always be the D.
